About Me
First, thank you for taking the time to visit my virtual home, reading my blogs, and watching my vlogs. I hope you'll be inspired to be curious, spread positivity, and live your best life as the best you.
I am a lot of things, but mostly a curious and annoyingly optimistic human. The Jawesome Life is where I write about all my curiosities, cultural explorations, social issues, #MomLife and #WritersLife. My goal is to inspire curiosity, positivity, and empathy. |
Author
I published my first book in 2018, "Pocket Full of Dreams," the story of my own healing journey post an abusive relationship. Using this book, I have been a speaker at middle schools, high schools, and universities to educate students on relationship violence, and learn how to support themselves and each other through traumatic situations. Most importantly, I want every young person I encounter to know that no matter what happens, they have the power to live a pocket full of dreams. 13% of proceeds goes to SafeBAE, to help empower students to be effective activists for themselves and their communities.

Writer + Producer | IMDBIn 2019 I was a fellow in the Producer's Guild Power of Diversity Workshop with my tweenage comedy series, IDENTITY CRISIS OF A BANANA. Although I fell in love with stories at a young age reading my parents bedtime stories (yes, you read that right), writing was not something I imagined I could pursue solely, because immigrant parents don't work their asses off and get their accents made fun so their kids can be starving artists. However, after obtaining a law degree, working in country music in Nashville, and learning the ins and outs of the film industry while working at an independent film studio as an acquisitions and co-productions executive, I found myself at a crossroads. Things ultimately came full circle for me and I unexpectedly found myself pursuing my childhood dream of being a writer and creator. I wrote and consulted on a hit Netflix Kid's series called Gymnastics Academy, and the first movie I wrote that got made premiered on Hallmark Channel in 2022. Check out A Big Fat Family Christmas (starring Shannon Chan-Kent, Shannon Kook, and Tia Carrere), formerly known as My Big Fat Chinese Christmas.

Copywriter & Branding
I love writing and helping others with their writing. As a copywriter, I help conscious and purpose-driven brands humanize their marketing through clear, impactful, and personal copywriting so that they can build trust and loyalty with their customers and further their mission with unwavering support from their customers. Words are powerful, and even when you're a small business selling your own cleaning detergent or hair oil, your words have the power of influence on people, culture, and planet. Please visit Red Balloon Station for more information on my copywriting services. I would love to help you make your words work as hard as you do!

Activist
Being an active member of my community has been a passion of mine since I was a child. Some of the issues I am most passionate about are changing our culture around abuse, educating others on relationship abuse, advocating for women's issues and rights, and building interfaith relationships as the Interfaith Representative of my church. Currently, I sit on the board of SafeBAE, as the co-Director, where we support middle and high school students across the country change their schools' culture and responses to sexual harassment, abuse, and assault. Most recently, I have also been educating myself on and adjusting my lifestyle to live more sustainably in an effort to preserve this earth for my son and the next generations.

Motherhood
I've recently moved to the greatest "hood" of all--parenthood! It's certainly a journey many of us share, and I'm excited to share my own experiences here as well, because everything that matters to me, matters that much more now. And I hope that through sharing my stories (on any topic I write about), we can create a positive and supportive community that ensures none of us feel alone in our journeys and that we may connect in all our human experiences.
